MIZORAM PARCHMENT

$95.00

Having established the importance of colours throughout the Byzantine Empire and how they played an integral role in societal structure dictated religion and was a medium for artistic expression all the colour stemmed from white. The symbolic meaning attached to the brightness and saturation of hue in Byzantine colour would not be possible without dying white fabrics to the desirable shades. Dyeing of cloth was an important elaborate process that contributed to economic growth and trade during these centuries not forgetting that colour coding distinguished the nobility from the lower classes.

The Mizoram Parchment cushion is an ode to all the colours of the Middle Ages and with the halo of gold fringe around to help ground all the prints and bright colours in the Colour me Constantinople this piece is a classic neutral to decorate any room and space.
